To all good records in the Book of Life and a strong seal!

Gmar Hatima Tova!

Even if you fulfill one commandment this day, it will be counted. To all good records in the Book of Life and a strong seal!

On Yom Kippur, there are five prohibitions:

* Eating and drinking

* Washing

* Lubricating the skin

* Wearing leather shoes

* Sexual relations

Of course, there are all the usual Shabbat prohibitions - not using the phone and other electrical appliances, not driving a car, not turning on the lights, etc.

An important clarification for those who partially observe: if you violate one prohibition - this is not a reason to violate another. If of all the prohibitions you only have enough to change your leather shoes for Crocs - do at least that.

Yom Kippur is a daily fast.

It is always worth counting the time with a margin - start fasting earlier than the specified time and finish later. Just in case.

If for some reason you still eat and drink on Yom Kippur - do not arrange a meal, eat and drink minimally, in small portions, only what is necessary, without delicacies, beer, wine, preferably without bread and meat, etc.

If you forgot and broke the fast (for example, out of habit, you brushed your teeth, which is not allowed on Yom Kippur) - then do not stop observing, but continue fasting.

Once again: if you violate one prohibition - this is not a reason to violate another. If of all the prohibitions of Yom Kippur you are only enough to change your leather shoes to Crocs - do at least that. If you are enough for more - do more.
