This year, the Kyiv Hesed Volunteer Center, which operates under the ICF "Jewish Hesed "Bnei Azriel", received the Hoffman Award for the implementation of the project "Supervision Patrols of Good Neighborhood 60+".
Specificity (S): To improve the quality of life of lonely and vulnerable people aged 60+ by organizing systematic volunteer visits, social support and creating a permanent peer-to-peer mutual aid community.
Measurability (M): at least 1,500 individual visits/contacts per year; 120–150 recipients of assistance, including 70% - elderly IDPs; 25 active volunteers 60+, including 10 IDPs; 10 trained mentors; improvement of well-being/reduction of isolation by at least 30% according to the results of surveys.
Achievability (A): The project is implemented on the basis of the Volunteer Center and Hesed with existing resources, experts and a partner network. The peer-to-peer format increases involvement and realism of implementation.
Relevance (R): Meets the growing needs of the older population for social support, in particular elderly IDPs, their emotional contact and accessibility of assistance in conditions of prolonged isolation, digital divide and societal challenges.
Duration (T): Implementation – 12 months (01.02.2026 – 31.01.2027) with further integration into the permanent activities of the Center.
