We invite you to join our program, "Ma nishma, chaverim?"

Last week, over 30 clients of the Kyiv Hesed Bnei Azriel gathered for the first autumn meeting of the "Ma Nishma, Haverim?" ("How are things, friends?") program. In Kyiv, where daily life remains unstable and filled with anxiety, it is especially important to have a space where one can set aside daily worries for a few hours, meet friends, chat, share a smile, sing, and simply be together.

The gathering began with a musical program; familiar Jewish songs immediately created a warm atmosphere—clients sang along and soon began to dance. Next, games and activities awaited them.

Following this, the coordinator of the project "Creating a Friendly Environment for People with Dementia" at Kyiv Hesed Bnei Azriel (supported by WJR) led a neuroplasticity game. With their eyes closed, the clients assembled portraits using individual facial features. This exercise in concentration and memory quickly turned into a fun activity—as the eyes, noses, and mouths rarely ended up where they were supposed to be!

There was also a team competition: the "Carpathians" and the "Crimean Mountains" teams had to pass a wooden ring along using colored wires, without touching it with their hands. This time, the "Carpathians" emerged victorious.

The meeting concluded with "Hava Nagila." Some participants got up to dance, while others danced from their seats—once again, the entire room came together as one big group!
