Our "Club of travelers"
Do the Jews like travelling? The answer to this question is obvious. The Jewish people in its history so often changed the country of residence that road sense came in the flesh and blood of its national character. But what if your heart craves for new experiences but life circumstances or health does not allow traveling? The answer to this question is also simple – we decided to develop virtual tours for everyone interested. After all, this year we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of ICF "Jewish Hesed "Bnei Azriel". And it is impossible to deny the fact that this age is the most suitable for adventure!
Our wards and volunteers are curious and knowledgeable people. Their range of interests is quite wide. The same extensive as the geography of countries which they would like to visit. However, what good is for the Jew from journey just for the journey? Of course, we want to spend time with benefits. This means not only to see the well-known sights of any country, but to visit the places dear to the heart of every Jew. Of course, this is the synagogue.
So, taking into account all aspects of Jewish traditions, as well as using the latest technology, the Hesed Center of social marketing prepared a pleasant surprise for our dear clients – a virtual "Club of travelers". The first tour in this project was the thematic course on "Synagogues of the world: history and events". This course is an interactive slide show, consisting of a cycle of travels. A distinctive feature of the course is that participants can not only get the aesthetic pleasure of luxurious photos of famous synagogues operating in different countries of the world, but also immerse themselves in stories about the amazing lives of people involved in the creation of Jewish communities and the construction of synagogues. In view of the fact that the material is very extensive, thematic course was divided into a series of 7 "tours", namely: Australia and Oceania; Europe; North America; South America; Africa and Asia; Synagogues of the Muslim world; Ukraine and Russia.
Our round-the-world trip started on 18 April 2016: Day center of Hesed has taken "aboard" a group of clients of the Desnyansky and Solomensky districts of Kiev, who managed to visit Australia and Oceania, traveling with the first Jewish immigrants to the "land of kangaroos". We have seen not only the luxurious interior of the working synagogues of Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Hobart and other cities, but have also become aware of significant events that occurred during the 6 waves of Jewish emigration to Australia.
The journey has extremely pleased our clients. And with a single heart we decided not to change the course – to develop the direction of " Synagogues of the world: history and events"!
But our club traveler is keeping up with modern technology! Therefore, another interesting direction will be skype-travels. Our friends in other countries will in a real mode show the beauty of the city where they live, and dear travelers sitting in comfort in a Day centre, will be able to see and communicate immediately with the guides! This program begins to run from December 2016. And the exact days you will be able to learn from our calendar on the page "Announcements".
However, it is better... to touch once than hundred times to see? This is why we decided to invite the real foreigners – known figures of modern art, science, diplomacy, business representatives and those who are genuinely happy to talk to our clients! These meetings will begin in 2017.
We start in a Day care center of ICF "Kyiv Hesed "Bnei Azriel"! Welcome to the virtual "Club of travelers" of our Hesed!
