«Sikvaruli in Hesed: interaction» in the Kiev Hesed has opened a personal exhibition of Georgian artist Tamaz Avaliani

Breathe in. And as you breathe out, say "Tamaz Avaliani". At the end of the second word You will have to do one more little breath to say these words to the end. And no matter how loudly sounds his name, but the last syllable of his surname will still be uttered in a low voice... Do you see? Yes, "Tamaz Avaliani" resembles a waterfall, which white foaming waters are falling loudly from a height along black canyons, scattering icy sparks of splashes. What a power! What expression! But then, somewhere far away in green valleys the water spreads out peacefully for hundreds of softly murmuring streams. And, it seems, time itself stops its crazy run to drink their crystal clear waters and admire the moth, trustingly laid down its thin tiny wings...

It resembles brilliant pictures of Tamaz, which are impossible to perceive univocally. Numerous interlacing plots of magnificent canvas makes you look at every detail, discovering again and again the new feelings, born under impression of the seen. Black-and-white pictures do not just speak for themselves, thanks to the high technique of the Master. They speak to You in the language of the soul – "the only language, worth understanding." Each picture permeates Your mind and picks up Your mood. Therefore, so many people who once have seen the works of Tamaz Avaliani fall in love with their "collocutors" and come to see them again and again.

The artwork becomes Your friend, who knows the deepest desires You would have never told. And this secret remains only between You. All the paintings are inscribed in black ballpoint pen. Yes, it's not the photos, not collages, not charcoal or pencil. The smallest stroke on the canvas is absolutely accurate – because it is impossible to erase or correct. Also, it is impossible to write a copy of the painting: each one is unique. A distinctive feature of living paintings is that in the dialog "picture-viewer" works of Tamaz do not take away your emotions, but rather bring some new, fresh ones. Do You want to experience this magic? Then come to us, as well as the ICF "Jewish Hesed "Bnei Azriel" invites You at a charity solo exhibition of Tamaz Avaliani "Sikvaruli in Hesed: interaction".

The exhibition presents 23 paintings, which You can talk to from 7 August to 8 September 2017. The exhibition runs in the format of vernissage on the walls of the 2nd floor of the Kiev Hesed and in the premises of our Club on the 1st floor. The title of the exhibition is not accidental. After all, for more than 2600 years, the Georgians and the Jews are doing together in this world: common history, rejoicing and singing woes, in harmony and peace live in the same country, and being in different countries – still helping each other. We have many common traditions, among them are respect for older people, care and support for each other. "Love in Mercy: interaction" is the literal meaning of the title of this special exhibition.

Even the ceremony of its opening was held on a special day – the Day of love, one of the oldest Jewish holidays. Our Hesed with love and respect presented wonderful gifts to the great artist. Guess, what gift can be more sincere than a song or dance? That is why from the scene of our hospitable Hesed sounded Jewish and Georgian melodies performed by the charming Helen Winn, romantic Mikhail Strizhevskiy and charismatic Alexander Kot.

Rousing and touching songs were performed by the unique in our national world music ensemble "Kiev Klezmer band". The poetry of Georgian poets sounded natural with traditional "Hava Nagila" in a magnificent saxophone performance of Anna Kipjatkova, the winner of the international competition. The decoration of the evening was the musical dance number "Adama" played by the brilliant Amateur ensemble "Shmayliki". The ensemble consists of our talented employees Natalia Ugryumova, Olga Ovdienko, Marina Dudchenko, Helen Winn, Irina Demenko and Elena Grishchenko.

The hosts – bright creative personalities Ivanna Edgarova and Emil Krupnik – masterfully combined music performances and welcoming words of the guests. Numerous guests, among whom were famous painters, popular artists, journalists, photographers, the cream of creative clerisy of Kiev, the heads of public organizations, representatives of diplomatic circles and of course, our wards were thrilled with the musical gifts of the organizers, thanked them with a standing ovation and joined in the heartfelt wishes of success to Tamaz Avaliani.

Not only the artist but also all participants of the celebration were pleased to hear sincere words of true connoisseurs of the arts – Zurab Topuriy, cultural attaché of the Embassy of Georgia in Ukraine and Slava Zaymak, popular Ukrainian designer. The opening of the exhibition took place in the homey, intimate atmosphere, and the faces of our guests were shining with happiness. The exhibition continues. The highlight of the exposition is a brand new canvas of Tamaz Avaliani, inspired by the ancient symbols of Judaism and the history of Jewish people.

And we invite everyone to visit the exhibition in our Hesed at Piterskaya Street 4-A. Art curator of the project Ivanna Edgarova and PR Manager of the Fund Zoryna Nikitina will gladly tell You about the Master, his paintings, as well as give out an autograph of the famous artist, if You pre-inform us by the phone number +38 (050) 412-25-15 about your intention to come to visit us.
