The echo of our youth: a popular singer Maya Kristalinskaya in the club of ICF

"The Land became empty without you. How can I live just a few hours? The leaves are falling in the gardens, and taxis hurry somewhere – just the same..." - these words of the famous song "Tenderness" are known by millions of people from the post-Soviet space. And now the popularity of the lines that touch the soul, is not becoming less – at all times nothing is more precious than genuinely loving human heart. The performer of poignant lyrics in the song, like many other compositions, was Maya Kristalinskaya, whom the poet Robert Rozhdestvensky called "the echo of our youth".

Maya’s songs were sung by the whole country. And 19 January 2017 at the club of our Hesed the admirers of Maya Kristalinskaya became participants of the program, dedicated to the memory of this great Jewish singer.

Maya Kristalinskaya was born on February 24, 1932 in Moscow. In the childhood she sang in the choir of the Central house of railwaymen, which was led by I. O. Dunaevsky. Later, when she studied at the Moscow aviation Institute - actively participated in student performances.

Only after the State Concert offered her a tour on the Caucasus, where the audience greeted the singer with delight, in the capital she got an offer to become a professional singer, and soon Maya Kristalinskaya has appeared as a soloist with the jazz orchestras of Oleg Lundstrem and Eddie Rosner.

The songs "Tenderness", "And the snow is falling", "Silence", "Stork", "Princess Nesmeyana", "Perhaps", "August", "Don't you worry" and dozens of others in the performance of Kristalinskaya were loved by everyone. And the record of Andrei Eshpai "The two shores" from the film "Thirst" has sold 7 million copies, setting a record. The huge success fell to a kind of music serial by composer Arkady Ostrovsky "In our yard", performed by Maya Kristalinskaya and Joseph Kobzon.

The singer's career was disappointingly short – the severe illness came suddenly and completely deprived her of the voice. Maya Kristalinskaya died on 19 June 1985.

However, a bright talent shining in every note of the songs, did not quench until now. So our wards who listened to stories from the life of the singer and the songs, performed by the ensemble "Singing hearts", for a short time got back in the days of their youth, remembered about their affections, hobbies and great love...

That’s what the fate of a real talent is – to inspire people beyond the borders time, countries and life. Because "... the stars give their tenderness"...
