"To be a Jew is worrisome, not to be – impossible," was the motto of a fascinating lecture by Zoe Gutnik for the wards of ICF "Jewish Hesed "Bnei Azriel" club.
Moderator masterfully intertwined a story about the culture and traditions with the legends and actual events, with morals and interpretation of the most important canons of the Jewish worldview. Analyzing the phonetics of Yiddish and Hebrew, sounds of national music and dance moves, the lecturer showed how profoundly symbolic are many of the usual things for a modern Jew.
Zoe Gutnik offered the audience her own vision of the history of the Jews, backed up by credible historical facts and beautiful legends. She showed how symbolic were all the ordeals that came to the Jewish people in different historical epochs. And, most importantly, once again proved to the wards of ICF "Jewish Hesed "Bnei Azriel" how important it is to preserve and develop the Jewish culture, continuously passing it on to future generations.
And the pleasant ending of the lecture was the song "Tum-balalaika" performed by talented chansonnier Emil Krupnik. Easy motive and the lyric words on a beautiful Yiddish created for our clients the feeling of happiness from their awareness of their own involvement in a large family of Jews all over the world.
