Studying Jewish traditions in the ICF «Jewish Hesed «Bnei Azriel»

Talking about the important, valuable and significant – it is always responsible and serious – so we used to think since childhood. And what if we try making it differently? What if we talk about the traditions easily and naturally? Maybe the daily or festive rites and rituals will become clearer when we well sing or dance about them? And, in fact, who said that it is prohibited to compose verses for ease of understanding and memorization of kosher food?!

All this questions were raised by Marina Zadova in her lecture, who told the wards of ICF "Jewish Hesed "Bnei Azriel " about the rules of kashrut during the celebration of Passover. Demonstrating humorous, at first glance, videos, the lecturer managed to touch upon very important issues related to behavior, nutrition and the celebration of Passover in different communities. That is how the Kiev Hesed’s wards found out about different traditions of the Passover of the Jews of different countries, regions, or even communities within one city. And, most importantly, those present realized that the difference in rules and norms is very often the result of historical development, changes in the external environment and the way of life of the community, and not a rejection of the commandments of the Torah. After all, all the ways and means of celebration, no matter how different they look, call on the Jews of the whole world to rejoice at redemption, enjoy freedom and feel their engagement with the united great people of Israel.

Our cheerful meeting, full of deep meaning, was imperceptibly came to an end, but discussions and consideration of culture and traditions for a long time occupied the minds and hearts of grateful wards of ICF "Jewish Hesed "Bnei Azriel" – Jews of Kyiv and Kyiv region, who attended the lecture.
